Board of Directors

The supreme body of Hellenic Hydrogen SA is the General Assembly of its shareholders. Hellenic Hydrogen is governed by a 7-member Board of Directors, which is elected every three years by the General Assembly.

Georgios Stassis

Chairman

Georgios Stassis joined PPC Group in 2019 and he is heading the transformation of the former state monopoly into the leading clean energy company in Southeast Europe, by implementing a strategic plan focusing on financial stability and growth, energy transition, digitalization, and customer centricity. He has more than 17 years of experience in the energy market. He has held important positions in various organizations and associations within the energy sector in Greece and southeast Europe, and within all parts of a utility value chain (generation, distribution, supply). Previously worked for ENEL SpA, as President &CEO of Enel Romania SrL., the largest vertical integrated energy company inRomania, and before as head of Green Power for Eastern Europe and Middle East.
Mr. Stassis holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in management
in Construction and Structural Design from Kingston University (UK)and has attended Executive Courses at Harvard Business School (US) and at ElisAcademy (Italy).

Panagiotis Dimitriadis

Vice Chairman

Panagiotis Dimitriadis is the Director of the Senior Production and MarketingDivision of Motor Oil Hellas (MOH) Corinth Refineries from April 2024. He joined the Motor Oil Group in 1991, continuously assuming positions of increased responsibility. He has served as Technical Director of MOH (2014-2024), Procurement Manager (2009-2014), Production Department Head of the Catalytic Pyrolysis Department (2002-2009), Head of the Technical Services Department (1998-2002)and for 11 years he worked in various positions in the production process, financeand planning, fuel handling, process design of the Group’s refinery as an engineer (1991-1998). Since January 2023 he is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of (1991-1998). Since January 2023, he is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Hydrogen.

He is a Chemical Engineer, graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, holds an MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business Administration and a Master’s degree from the Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires (INSEAD).

George Triantafyllou

Member

George Triantafyllou was born in 1982. He holds a dual degree in Economics and History from Brandeis University and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to joining the Company, he worked for 13 years at Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division in London and New York, focusing on the Energy and Power sectors. In his last role at Goldman Sachs, he was Head of Southeastern Europe including Greece and Cyprus. He joined the Company in July 2021. In January 2023 he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Hydrogen S.A.

Konstantinos Ι. Chatzifotis

Member

Konstantinos Ι. Chatzifotis is Manager of European Affairs of MΟΗ Group, Member of Directors of Hellenic Hydrogen S.A., and registered lawyer in Athens Bar Association (2005). He has served as Member of Cabinet of EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship (Brussels, 2016-2018), Head of Cabinet of a Vice President of European Parliament (Brussels, 2005-2014), as well as senior advisor of International and EU Affairs and Funding for various Ministers of the Greek Government. He has also advised and supported as external EU funding expert numerous Greek Ministries, Regional and Local Authorities in strategic planning, developing, promoting and managing EU co-funded programs and he has participated as legal expert in international ICT projects.

He holds a DES in EU Law (ULB – Belgium), an LLM in ICT Law (KULeuven – Belgium), and a Bachelor of Laws (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki –Greece). He has received scholarships from the Alexandros Onassis Foundation and the Church of Greece.

Georgios Mitkidis

Member

Georgios Mitkidis is Head of Alternative and Renewable Fuels within the Strategic Planning and Development department of the Motor Oil Group since 2020. He is Chemical Engineer with studies in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He also holds a Professional Doctorate in Engineering diploma from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and an MBA from the Hellenic Open University. He is chartered Engineer and Member of IChemE since 2016. He has worked from 2006 to 2020 in the Shell Technology Center in the Netherlands with extensive professional experience in the areas of Oil Refining, Gas Processing and Petrochemicals technologies specializing in design, evaluation and project development of processing facilities. During his last role held the position of Front End Development Manager responsible for the development of large scale petrochemicals and renewable fuels projects. In January 2023 he was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Hydrogen S.A.

Ioannis Kopanakis

Member

Ioannis Kopanakis held the position of Deputy CEO of Production Operations at PPC S.A. from September 2019 until January 2023. He was appointed Chief Development Officer on 1 January 2017, Chief Generation Officer on 1 September 2009, and Director of the Thermal Power Plants Operation Department in 2007. Over the previous six years, he had served as Director of the Power Plants’ Planning and Performance Management Department, whereas, since joining PPC in 1985 and for sixteen years he had been working as Senior Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, and Thermal Power Plant Manager. He holds a diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MBA degree from the Nottingham Trend University.

Konstantinos Alexandridis

Member

Konstantinos Alexandridis is an economist with many years’ experience in the Financial Management of large listed companies. He started his career as a financial analyst and continued taking on positions of increased responsibility. From 2020 he has joined PPC Group, coming from the startup company Spotawheel, which is active in the e-sales of second hand cars in Greece and abroad. From 2008 until 2018 he worked for OTE Group (member of the Deutsche Telekom Group), in senior executive positions as the Financial Controller and Corporate Projects Director. Prior to that he was the Financial Controller of Tellas (acquired by Wind Hellas). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina, an MSc in Decision Modelling and Information Systems from Brunel University UK and an International MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Dimitris Triantafyllopoulos

Managing Director

Dimitris Triantafyllopoulos has more than 20 years of experience in the energy market. During the last years he has worked on the development of new activities related to clean, alternative energy sources, energy efficiency and energy management, focusing on energy transition and sustainable development. In January 2023 he was appointed as the CEO of Hellenic Hydrogen SA.

Mr. Triantafyllopoulos is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens School of Mining-Metallurgical Engineering with postgraduate studies in “Environmental Technology” from the University of UMIST and in “Engineering Business Management” from the University of Warwick.

Chrysa Mertzani

Executive assistant to the Managing Director

Chrysa Mertzani has many years of experience in the field of administrative support of high-level executives and in various positions related to the management of communication projects and financial activities.  Since June 2023 she is  Executive Assistant to the Managing Director at Hellenic Hydrogen S.A. having as main responsibility the smooth operation and coordination of all administrative processes of the company.   

She holds a degree in Foreign Languages from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Padova, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Hellenic Open University.

Georgios Douridas

Project Development Manager

Georgios Douridas is Project Development Manager at Hellenic Hydrogen S.A., where he is responsible for the management and coordination of the financial and commercial maturation of the company’s projects, while at the same time, he actively contributes to the development of the company’s business strategy and growth. With significant experience in business consulting, he specializes in areas such as organization and administration, project management, digital technology and strategic development. He has worked in leading consulting firms in Greece and the UK, in the energy, construction and banking/capital markets sectors (Jacobs, Capco, Accenture). Prior to joining Hellenic Hydrogen, he was an Internal Management Consultant at Motor Oil Hellas, where he led strategic initiatives and projects in various subsidiaries of the Group.

He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a Master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Manchester.

Spyros Kontomaris

Head of Technical Management

Spyros Kontomaris has more than 20 years of professional experience in the Energy Industry, serving in high level engineering positions for Natural Gas companies.

He is a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (School of Chemical Engineering) with postgraduate studies in “Evaluation of investment energy projects” from NTUA and the University of Piraeus.

As of November 2023, he has been appointed Technical Director at Hellenic Hydrogen S.A.

Elena Kostadima

Hydrogen Technology Engineer

Elena Kostadima is a Hydrogen Technology Engineer and a member of the Technical Directorate. She provides expert technical support in the design and study of renewable hydrogen production projects through the evaluation of technologies and processes, thus contributing to the company’s strategy.

She is a graduate of the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, with significant experience in the field of Natural Gas Networks and Crude Oil Refining..
